In 1972 Stavros Xarchakos composed the music for Aristophane's comedy "Lysistrata", which was transferred to the cinema by George Zervoulakos. The film stars, among others, were Jenny Karezi, Dionysis Papagiannopoulos and Kostas Kazakos.

The music and songs of the film were released on an album in 2006. The lyrics to the seven songs on the album are written by Giorgos Zervoulakos and one song by Nikos Gatsos. They are performed by Jenny Karezi, Anna Madzourani, Maria Marmarinou and Katiana Balanika. The album also contains five instrumental themes..
